Preparing for the IELTS Speaking Test
IELTS speaking test (TOEFL, GRE, TOEIC, and other ESL tests)
IELTS Speaking Test is the focus. However, many international English tests and exams are available for study abroad, global business, specific industries, and academics. So in the future, you may find the need to study for the IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, TOEIC, and other ESL exams / tests.
With experience as an IELTS examiner, the focus is on this test; however, all tests have the same goal of testing fluent English speaking skills. The structure of the tests may be different, but the ability to speak fluent English will be the same objective. In addition, most students find the English speaking and listening parts of the ESL tests to be the most difficult. Unfortunately, in the real world, these are the MOST IMPORTANT skills for English communication. For years, we have had great success preparing students for the IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, TOEIC, and other ESL tests.
As an IELTS examiner and teacher for 4 years, I realized that what is expected in the IELTS speaking test was not taught, and students were not prepared for the speaking test. I made lessons to prepare my students, and most of my students received 7-8.5 band scores on the SPEAKING test.
My book is based on my experience preparing students for the IELTS speaking test. The common mistakes, accent reduction, enunciation, and advanced intonation are all requirements to be a fluent speaker and to achieve a high band score on the IELTS.
Although the reason for taking the IELTS or other ESL English exams may vary, cheating or finding shortcuts to achieve a high score will only delay the reality. The truth is that being a fluent English speaker should lead to better opportunities.
Preparing for the IELTS Speaking Test may be important, but your goal should be to become a fluent English speaker.
